Mission

The Financial Education Lab’s primary mission is to understand individuals’ financial behaviour and develop financial education strategies that are likely to improve financial well-being. The lab combines survey and administrative data to get a realistic view specific situations to optimize desirable results. At the same time this research helps to train graduate students.

Goals

The lab pursues three main objectives, all of which lead to the production of world-class research analyzing individuals’ financial decisions:

1) Document and analyze the financial literacy situation of individuals;

2) Understand the impact of the level of financial literacy on their financial choices;

3) Analyze targeted interventions to improve individuals’ financial knowledge and thus contribute to their financial well-being.

Research Themes

These three objectives will be achieved through two important research themes: the debt management of individuals and their financial investments.
